Avon Lake property owners with newly installed in-ground sprinkling systems must have them immediately registered with Avon Lake Municipal Utilities, have the backflow preventers installed, and have them inspected annually by certified inspectors. Copies of the registrations and inspection results must be on file at Avon Lake Municipal Utilities by the May 25 annual inspection deadline. Registered owners will receive a notice advising them when the annual in-ground system checks officially begin. Failure to comply can result in fines up to $1,000, the water being shut off, and a standard Board approved turn-on fee applied.
